Student Leadership & Involvement Graduate Assistant

À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Student Leadership & Involvement to assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of a comprehensive student involvement program designed to enhance the overall learning experience for students by enhancing co-curricular activities.

This Graduate Assistant should gain experience in advising, programming, campus recreation and fitness programs, student organizations, campus policies, and working with faculty and staff advisors. The position includes a scholarship, in accordance with graduate school tuition, and payment, in accordance with hours worked. The Graduate Assistant for Student Leadership & Involvement reports to the Director of Student Leadership & Involvement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support for the Griffin Intramurals program, with a special focus on program growth and development to meet the recreation and fitness needs of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ students.
  • Oversee marketing efforts, including management of social media channels and Stall Stories.
  • Lead and actively participate in recruiting, training, and supervising undergraduate and graduate student employees for Griffin Intramurals, the Career Closet, and other Student Leadership & Involvement employees.
  • Maintain the reservation and inventory of Griffin Intramurals equipment.
  • Assist the Director of Student Leadership & Involvement with the planning and execution of large-scale University events, including holiday traditions.
  • Other duties as assigned, including supporting other Student Leadership & Involvement and Student Affairs programming.

Qualifications & Expectations:

  • A bachelor’s degree and acceptance into one of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s eligible graduate programs
  • Knowledge of event planning or program management preferred
  • Conduct themselves as professional staff members while in the office which includes dress, behavior, and attitude
  • Flexibility of work environment and schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Integrity, flexibility, positivity, adaptability, strong work ethic
